Independent Living

These facilities provide an apartment with meals, housekeeping, activity program, emergency call cord and transportation service. The HUD low to moderately low income facilities provide one meal per day, emergency call cord and limited activities and transportation.

Residents appropriate for independent living facilities:

Able to do own grooming / self care
Capable of remembering meals and medications
Socially appropriate behavior

Some facilities allow residents to hire outside help just as they would do in their own home.
